The Impact Supper Club: Who Wins When We Invest in Nature

Join CAGSN for its inaugural Impact Supper Club event.

At this first dinner, Who Wins When We Invest in Nature, we will host two alumni speakers working in financing nature-based solutions (NBS). The discussion will explore how investment can unlock their climate mitigation potential. The guests speakers are Noveena Paddala from Forest Inputs Resilience Fund and Carlos Puerta from C-Neutral. Read more about them and the event below.

About The Impact Supper Club Guests and Program

Noveena Padala, Investment Associate, Forest Inputs Resilience (FIR) Fund ('24SPS) supports a fund tackling a structural bottleneck most people never think about: the scarcity of native tree seeds and seedlings needed to scale reforestation in the United States. A Chartered Accountant with deep expertise in financial due diligence and M&A across global markets, she brings the investment rigor that nature-based infrastructure urgently needs.

Carlos Puerta, Co-Founder, C-Neutral ('26SIPA) has spent over a decade structuring nature-based solutions and climate finance across Latin America -- at South Pole (leading regional climate portfolios), FENOGE (Colombia's national renewable energy fund), and Ecopetrol (1,000+ MW renewable portfolio). He brings field-level clarity on what it takes to design, finance, and verify an NBS project at scale.

The discussion will explore

  • The state of carbon markets and NBS: what is working, what is overhyped, and what credible investment looks like today
  • The investment case: when NBS projects become bankable and what due diligence actually requires
  • The corporate view: what moves a high-emissions company toward genuine nature-positive strategy
  • The social contract: who benefits on the ground, and who bears transition costs
  • How the Columbia network can connect finance, industry, and advocacy to accelerate what is working
What is The Impact Supper Club?
The Impact Supper Club Series is an intimate gathering designed to bring together a small group of Columbia Alumni sustainability practitioners for an open discussion around various topics in sustainability. No panels. No presentations. Just a shared meal and a discussion that goes into the real mechanics of climate solutions. This is the first time we are hosting an event of this kind.
