Join CAGSN, CAA India, and GuruJal for an alumni keynote address and panel discussion among climate risk and adaptation experts from business, academia and government on the challenges and opportunities to implementing climate mitigation strategies in India. The alumni keynote address will be delivered by Vaishali Nigam Sinha ('94SIPA), Co-Founder of ReNew. 

Moderated by sustainability expert Dr. Fawzia Tarannum, Strategic Advisor and Trustee at Gurujal, this panel will include

  • Mamta Chander, GDS Business Consulting Leader, EY
  • Dr. Ruth DeFries, Professor and Co-founding Dean, Columbia Climate School

The Columbia Alumni Global Sustainability Network (CAGSN) is an international, multidisciplinary community interested in creating a shared sustainable future. CAGSN welcomes alumni from all of Columbia University’s schools and affiliates and aims to create a space that advances the discussion around cross-sectoral solutions to environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues, such as climate change mitigation and adaptation, energy transition, environmental justice, sustainable food systems, and social impact. CAGSN brings its members together through a mix of virtual and in-person social, educational, and networking events.

GuruJal is an integrated water management initiative, which aims to address the issues of water scarcity, ground-water depletion, flooding and stagnation across India. They aim to collaborate with the different stakeholders at National and International level like corporates, civil societies and research organisations to address the issue using systems thinking approach.
